UNICOPS Project Engages University Students in Thessaloniki

In October 2025, the UNICOPS Project was presented to university students at the American College of Thessaloniki.

The presentation introduced students to the UNICOPS Project, which aims to enhance the safety of higher education institutions against CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives) threats. Students learned about the project’s objectives, including improving emergency preparedness, developing tailored training programs, and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration between universities, security services, and law enforcement agencies.

The session included interactive discussions on practical measures to protect open-access academic spaces, the importance of community resilience, and how innovative educational tools—like interactive scenarios and training games—can support students, staff, and faculty in responding to potential CBRNE threats.

By engaging university students, the UNICOPS Project encourages awareness of safety protocols, inspires future leaders in security and emergency management, and promotes a culture of preparedness in higher education institutions.
