Study Visit at National & Kapodistrian University of Athens

The UNICOPS consortium recently conducted a study visit at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, organized together with Sigoria Sp. z o.o., The Biohazard Prevention Centre, and the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA). This visit is part of a comprehensive series of field assessments designed to understand how different campuses operate and address security challenges.

These study visits are critical to the project’s methodology, as the insights gathered feed directly into the operational CBRNe protection framework that UNICOPS is developing for European universities. By engaging directly with institutions on the ground, the consortium ensures that solutions are grounded in real-world contexts and operational realities.

The fieldwork conducted across Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, and Cyprus ensures the framework is built from evidence, reflects diverse campus environments, and responds to actual operational needs. This pan-European approach guarantees that the final UNICOPS framework will be adaptable and relevant across the continent’s varied higher education landscape.
